The Hitachi DV18DSL Hammer Drill/Driver is part of the Hitachi 18V Li-ion Slide-on Battery Range.

Compact and lightweight the DV18DSL weighs just 1.8kg and has an overall length of 250mm. Powerful motor with up to 45Nm of torque. Hitachi DV18DSL Combi Drill has a fan-cooled motor for high power and improved durability.

3-Mode settings are available on the DV18DSL: Drilling, Impact Drilling, and Driver. A 13mm keyless chuck makes bit changing easy with one handed operation and is equipped with ratcheting lock mechanism to prevent the driver bit from loosening during use. The Hitachi DV18DSL comes with a 22-Stage adjustable clutch and 2 torque settings. Power Save mode for lighter work increases battery run time.

Electric feedback and brake for efficient work and added safety. Push button forward/reverse switch positioned next to the trigger for quick convenient direction change. Externally replaceable carbon brushes for easy maintenance. Comfortable slim-line soft grip handle, LED job light and belt hook are just a few of the user friendly features on the DV18DSL. The Hitachi DV18DSL uses Lithium-ion battery technology which has a number of advantages: the batteries have no memory effect which allows them to be recharged before they are completely discharged, they are up to 40% lighter than an NiCD or NiMH battery and they also maintain their charge noticeably longer which provides increased productivity.
